Target Information

Mouse Sodium/Glucose Cotransporter 1 (SGLT1) is a brush-border membrane protein that mediates the active uptake of glucose and galactose from the intestinal lumen into enterocytes. It uses the sodium gradient generated by Na⁺/K⁺-ATPase to drive sugar transport, playing a crucial role in carbohydrate absorption. SGLT1 is highly expressed in the small intestine and is essential for postprandial glucose homeostasis. As a key regulator of glucose absorption, SGLT1 is an important target for studies of glucose metabolism and potential therapeutic applications in diabetes.
