Mouse Multidrug Resistance Associated Protein 1 (MRP1) is an ATP-driven efflux pump located on the basolateral membrane of epithelial and endothelial cells. It exports glutathione-conjugated drugs, toxins and inflammatory mediators, limiting intracellular accumulation and modulating tissue defense. Broad distribution in lung, brain and hematopoietic lineages makes MRP1 a sensitive marker for barrier integrity and chemo-resistance. Specific antibody detection enables quantitative mapping of transporter expression in tissue sections and efflux assays without cross-reactivity to other ABC transporters.
