Target Information

Rat Protein Phosphatase 2A Activator, Regulatory Subunit 4 (PTPA/PPP2R4) is a conserved activator of the major serine/threonine phosphatase PP2A. Binding the PP2A catalytic core, PTPA accelerates holoenzyme assembly and substrate-directed dephosphorylation, thereby modulating cell-cycle checkpoints, stress signaling, and cytoskeletal dynamics. Widely expressed in brain, liver, and muscle, PTPA is indispensable for phosphatase homeostasis. As a key PP2A regulator, it is an important target for studies of signal transduction, neurodegeneration, and metabolic control.
