Sample Requirements
For maximum assay sensitivity and to provide sufficient volume for possible confirmation or dynamic dilution re-runs, we suggest the following sample specifications:
1. Accepted Sample Types & Recommended Volumes
Serum / Plasma: Requires 50-100 µL per well. We recommend submitting >200-500 µL per sample. Serum must be separated immediately via centrifugation; hemolysis must be strictly avoided as it releases endogenous peroxidases that cause high background or false positives. For plasma, please specify the anticoagulant used (EDTA or Heparin is preferred).
Cell Culture Supernatant: We recommend submitting >500-1,000 µL per sample. Centrifuge to remove cell debris prior to aliquoting and freezing. If the culture medium contains high concentrations of FBS, please inform us during inquiry to address potential cross-reactivity with bovine homologous proteins.
Tissue Homogenates: We recommend providing >50-100 mg of fresh tissue. Samples can be pre-homogenized in a lysis buffer containing protease inhibitors, or submitted directly as flash-frozen fresh tissues for processing by our lab team.
Other Samples: Urine, Fecal Extracts, Bronchoalveolar Lavage Fluid (BALF), Saliva, Cerebrospinal Fluid (CSF), Ascites, Semen, and Milk. We recommend providing >300-500 µL per sample. For special samples such as animal feed, please consult our technical staff before collecting and shipping them.
Biosafety Notice: To maintain strict laboratory biosafety compliance, BioVenic does not accept un-inactivated samples containing high-consequence, zoonotic pathogens. All high-risk samples must be accompanied by inactivation certification or undergo safety review by our technical team prior to shipment.
2. Sample Submission
Please consult our technical support team in advance to confirm that your sample type is suitable for the required testing, and to confirm the required sample volume for specific sample types or parameters before shipping your samples. Then, follow our instructions to collect, label, and package the samples before shipping them to our address.
