Target Information

Bovine osteopontin (OPN) is a 44-kDa secreted glycoprotein widely expressed in bovine tissues including bone, kidney, mammary gland, and immune cells. It contains an RGD motif mediating cell adhesion via integrin receptors, regulating cell migration, proliferation, and differentiation. As a key mediator of bone remodeling, it modulates osteoclast and osteoblast activity to maintain skeletal homeostasis. Beyond bone physiology, it participates in inflammatory responses, tissue repair, and mucosal defense. As a multifunctional protein linking tissue remodeling and immune regulation, bovine OPN is a critical target for studying skeletal disorders, inflammatory processes, and bovine-specific physiological or pathological mechanisms.
