Mouse Chitinase 1 (CHIT1) is a secreted 50 kDa glycosidase that hydrolyzes chitin and chitooligosaccharides into N-acetyl-D-glucosamine. It is highly expressed in macrophages and neutrophils, where it participates in innate immunity by degrading fungal and parasitic cell walls. CHIT1 also modulates inflammation and tissue remodeling through the cleavage of chitin-containing allergens and the regulation of T-helper cell responses. Elevated levels are found in lysosomal storage disorders and chronic inflammatory diseases. As a key chitinolytic enzyme, CHIT1 is an important target for studies of host defense, fibrosis, and allergic inflammation.

This product is shipped with wet ice packs. Store at -20°C on receipt (up to 12 months). Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody.
