Target Information
Rat ubiquitin D (UBD, FAT10) is an 18 kDa interferon-induced UBL comprising two β-grasp domains fused head-to-tail; mature chains are conjugated to targets via C-terminal Gly-Lys isopeptide bonds. A solvent-exposed 14-aa "KVE" loop (aa 70-83) linking the two domains folds into a β-hairpin unique among rat UBLs, presenting a conformational epitope preserved after proteasomal processing. Affinity-purified antibodies targeting this loop trace native UBD in liver, spleen, and cytokine-treated fibroblasts, delivering crisp punctate staining and single-band clarity on immunoblots with no cross-reaction to ubiquitin or other UBL modifiers.
