Target Information
Mouse peroxisome proliferator activated receptor alpha (PPARα) is a 52-kDa nuclear receptor and key regulator of lipid metabolism. It binds peroxisome proliferators and fatty acid ligands, forming heterodimers with retinoid X receptor to modulate gene expression. Ubiquitously expressed in mouse tissues-with high levels in liver, heart, and skeletal muscle-it drives fatty acid oxidation, ketogenesis, and lipoprotein metabolism. It also regulates inflammatory responses and energy homeostasis. As a central mediator of metabolic and inflammatory signaling, mouse PPARα is a critical target for studying metabolic disorders, fatty liver disease, and lipid-related pathological mechanisms.
