Target Information
Mouse interferon alpha 11 (IFN-α11) is a 19 kDa secreted type I cytokine whose five α-helices bundle to engage the IFNAR1/2 receptor complex, amplifying antiviral and immunomodulatory signals. A solvent-exposed 13-aa "SKP" loop (aa 35-47) between helix A and B carries a mouse-specific glycine insertion, presenting a strain-unique epitope preserved after glycosylation and fixation. Affinity-purified antibodies targeting this loop trace native IFN-α11 in splenic plasmacytoid dendritic cells, lung alveoli, and serum, delivering crisp cytoplasmic puncta and single-band clarity on immunoblots with no cross-reaction to other interferon alpha subtypes.
