Target Information

Mouse PDGF-A, a 23 kDa homodimeric growth factor, selectively engages PDGFRα to drive mesenchymal proliferation, migration and survival. Constitutively secreted by platelets, endothelium, fibroblasts and smooth-muscle cells, it patterns the developing lung, skin and CNS vasculature while sustaining adult tissue homeostasis and repair. Its readily detectable expression in normal serum and rapidly up-regulated release after injury render PDGF-A a sensitive IHC, Western blot or ELISA target for tracing fibrotic, atherosclerotic and tumor stromal responses .
