Target Information

Mouse epiregulin (EREG) is a 19-kDa secreted growth factor belonging to the EGF family, predominantly expressed in mouse epithelial tissues (skin, intestine, lung) and activated immune cells. It binds to EGF receptors (EGFR/ErbB1, ErbB4) to activate downstream signaling (MAPK, PI3K-AKT), regulating cell proliferation, differentiation, and epithelial barrier repair. Critical for murine tissue homeostasis, wound healing, and mucosal defense, it also modulates inflammatory responses and tumorigenesis in pathological contexts. Dysregulated expression associates with inflammatory disorders, epithelial hyperplasia, and various cancers. As a key mediator of epithelial biology and growth factor signaling, mouse EREG is a critical target for studying tissue repair, inflammatory pathologies, and cancer therapeutics.
