Target Information

Mouse Pancreatic Lipase is a 50 kDa serine hydrolase secreted by acinar cells into the duodenum, where it cleaves dietary triglycerides into 2-monoacylglycerol and free fatty acids at the oil-water interface. Its activity requires co-lipase and bile salts, anchoring the enzyme to lipid droplets and enabling efficient nutrient digestion. Constitutively expressed yet up-regulated by high-fat diets, the lipase is a reliable marker for exocrine pancreatic function. Antibodies to mouse pancreatic lipase enable specific localization and quantification of enzymatic activity in tissue sections and biological fluids without cross-reactivity to related lipases.
