Target Information

Mouse IL-2-inducible T-cell kinase (ITK) is a cytoplasmic Tec-family tyrosine kinase essential for T-cell receptor signaling. Triggered by TCR engagement, ITK phosphorylates and activates PLC-γ1, leading to calcium influx, PKC activation, and transcription factor induction. Expressed in Th2, Th17, and iNKT cells, ITK modulates cytokine production, proliferation, and differentiation. Loss of ITK skews immunity toward Th1 responses and impairs allergic inflammation. As a critical node in T-cell activation, ITK is an important target for studies of adaptive immunity, autoimmunity, and kinase-directed therapeutics.
