Mouse nucleoporin 88 (Nup88) is an 88 kDa β-propeller nucleoporin that anchors the Nup214-Nup88 scaffold to the cytoplasmic face of the nuclear pore, shaping the export channel for NF-κB and cargo-laden CRM1. A solvent-exposed "KYL" ridge (aa 485-497) projects from blade 6, presenting a conformational epitope unique among Nup family members. Affinity-purified antibodies targeting this ridge trace native Nup88 in interphase pores, mitotic spindle poles, and transformed cell cytoplasm, delivering crisp punctate rims and single-band specificity on immunoblots with no cross-reaction to Nup214 or Nup358.
