Target Information

Mouse glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (G6PD) is a cytosolic enzyme (59 kDa) that initiates the pentose phosphate pathway (PPP). It catalyzes the oxidation of glucose-6-phosphate to 6-phosphogluconolactone, generating NADPH-a key cofactor for redox homeostasis and biosynthesis. Expressed ubiquitously in mouse tissues, with high levels in liver, adipose tissue, and immune cells, it supports cellular defense against oxidative stress and nucleotide production. As a central regulator of metabolic flux between glycolysis and PPP, mouse G6PD is a critical target for investigating metabolic disorders, oxidative stress responses, and related physiological or pathological processes.
