Target Information

Rat progesterone receptor (PR) is a nuclear steroid receptor that regulates transcription of genes controlling mammary development, uterine function and reproductive behavior. Upon ligand binding it translocates to the nucleus, forming dimers that interact with progesterone response elements. PR is expressed in female reproductive tract, mammary gland and brain, offering a sensitive, species-specific marker for hormonal responsiveness. Target-specific antibodies detect both PR-A and PR-B isoforms without cross-reactivity to other steroid receptors, enabling precise localization and quantification in estrus cycling, pregnancy and endocrine-disruption studies.
