Target Information

Mouse immunoglobulin-associated alpha (CD79a, Ig-α) is a 33 kDa trans-membrane glycoprotein that forms the heterodimeric B-cell receptor (BCR) complex with CD79b. Constitutively expressed from pro-B to mature B stages, it couples surface immunoglobulin to downstream kinases, enabling signal transmission after antigen binding. Affinity-purified antibodies detect both native and intracellular CD79a without cross-reactivity to CD79b or T-cell markers, providing a selective tool for identifying B-lineage cells and quantifying BCR signaling in development, activation and lymphoma models.
