Mouse Fms-like tyrosine kinase 3 ligand (FLT3L) is a homodimeric cytokine that targets FLT3 (CD135) on hematopoietic stem cells and early progenitors, driving their survival, expansion and dendritic-cell differentiation. The 158-aa polypeptide forms a short α-helix bundle stabilized by two intra-chain disulfides; this compact fold creates a unique, species-selective epitope ideal for antibody generation. Anti-FLT3L immunoreagents enable precise quantification of the ligand in bone-marrow stroma, serum and lymphoid-tissue conditioned media without cross-reacting with other hematopoietic cytokines, providing a specific read-out for stem-cell niche activity and dendritic-cell development.
