Mouse interleukin-18 (IL-18) is an 18 kDa pro-inflammatory cytokine that, once cleaved by caspase-1, binds the IL-18 receptor complex on T-helper 1 cells and natural killer cells, triggering MyD88-dependent NF-κB and MAPK activation to drive IFN-γ release. Its β-trefoil fold presents a unique, species-restricted epitope ideal for antibody generation; anti-IL-18 immunoreagents enable quantification of both precursor and mature forms in serum, tissue homogenates and cell lysates without cross-reacting with other IL-1 family members, providing a precise read-out of inflammasome activity.

This product is shipped with wet ice packs. Store at -20°C on receipt (up to 12 months). Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody.
