Target Information

Mouse annexin A6 is a calcium-dependent phospholipid-binding protein that targets membranes containing phosphatidylserine and phosphatidylcholine. It cross-links actin filaments with lipid bilayers, stabilizing the plasma membrane during endocytosis, exocytosis and membrane repair. Annexin A6 is abundant in lung, heart and skeletal muscle, where it also organizes cholesterol-rich microdomains and modulates signal-transduction complexes. Its unique repeat of eight annexin cores presents a large, conserved surface epitope ideal for antibody generation; anti-annexin A6 clones therefore visualize membrane dynamics in tissue sections and cultured cells without cross-reacting with other annexin family members.
