Target Information

Cell adhesion molecule CEACAM5 is a cell surface glycoprotein involved in cell adhesion, intracellular signaling, and tumor progression. It facilitates both homophilic and heterophilic cell adhesion with other carcinoembryonic antigen-related molecules like CEACAM6. As an oncogene, CEACAM5 promotes tumor progression and induces resistance to anoikis in colorectal carcinoma cells. In mice, CEACAM5 is associated with tumor promotion, immune regulation, cell adhesion, and migration. During lung infections, its expression is not influenced by factors such as smoking and can enhance the colonization and inflammatory response of Moraxella catarrhalis in mouse lungs.
