Target Information
Mouse tissue carboxypeptidase B1 (CPB1) is a 48 kDa zinc-dependent metallo-exopeptidase whose funnel-shaped active site cleaves C-terminal Lys/Arg from peptides and proteins. A solvent-exposed 14-residue "SVK" loop (aa 225-238) lining the S1' pocket adopts a β-turn unique among murine carboxypeptidases, offering a conformational epitope preserved in both pro- and mature forms. Affinity-purified antibodies targeting this loop trace native CPB1 in pancreatic acinar granules, mast-cell secretory vesicles, and serum, delivering crisp zymogen granule staining and single-band clarity on immunoblots with no cross-reaction to CPA1 or CPM.
