Target Information
Mouse transforming growth factor beta receptor II (TGFβRII) is a 56-kDa transmembrane serine/threonine kinase ubiquitously expressed in murine tissues, with elevated levels in fibroblasts, epithelial cells, and immune cells. It forms heteromeric complexes with TGFβRI upon binding TGFβ ligands, activating SMAD-dependent and non-SMAD signaling pathways that regulate cell proliferation, differentiation, and extracellular matrix synthesis. Critical for murine embryonic development, tissue homeostasis, and immune suppression, it modulates wound healing and fibrosis. Dysregulated expression or mutations associate with cancer progression, fibrotic disorders (e.g., pulmonary fibrosis), and autoimmune diseases in mouse models. As a central mediator of TGFβ signaling, mouse TGFβRII is a critical target for studying tissue remodeling, tumorigenesis, and anti-fibrotic/anti-cancer therapeutics.
