Target Information
Rat GlyRα2 is a 450-residue postsynaptic pentamer that conducts chloride when glycine occupies its orthosteric sites. An extracellular 19-mer loop between β-strands 6 and 7, unique to the rat α2 isoform, projects laterally from the neurotransmitter shell and remains solvent-exposed after receptor assembly. Affinity-purified antibodies binding this segment sterically hinder glycine action, silencing fast inhibition in spinal cord and brainstem slices without altering GABAergic or α1/α3 GlyR-mediated currents.

This product is shipped with wet ice packs. Store at -20°C on receipt (up to 12 months). Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody.
