Target Information

Mouse Chemokine Ligand 2 (CCL2), also termed Monocyte Chemoattractant Protein-1, is a small secreted cytokine that guides Ly6C+ monocytes, memory T-cells and basophils to sites of injury or infection. Its N-terminal chemokine domain binds CCR2 with high specificity, triggering integrin activation and directional migration across vascular endothelium. Constitutively expressed by fibroblasts, endothelial and epithelial cells, CCL2 is rapidly up-regulated after cytokine or oxidative stress stimuli, serving as a reliable indicator of innate immune recruitment. Antibodies to mouse CCL2 enable precise quantification and localization of this key trafficking signal in inflammation, metabolic and neurodegenerative models.
