Target Information

Porcine cytokeratin 18 (CK18) is a 45-kDa intermediate filament protein specifically expressed in porcine epithelial cells-including those of the liver, intestine, kidney, and lung. It forms a cytoskeletal network that maintains epithelial cell integrity, shape, and mechanical stability, while supporting cell adhesion and tissue barrier function. As a type I cytokeratin, it pairs with type II cytokeratins (e.g., CK8) to regulate epithelial differentiation and stress resistance. Due to its epithelial-specific expression, it serves as a key marker for porcine epithelial cells and tissue damage. As a critical epithelial cytoskeletal protein, porcine CK18 is a target for studying porcine epithelial physiology, tissue injury, and veterinary-related pathological mechanisms.

Target Porcine Cytokeratin 18
Target Synonym KRT18; CYK18; K18; Keratin 18; Cell proliferation-inducing gene 46 protein
