Target Information
Mouse vascular endothelial growth factor receptor 2 (VEGFR2, KDR) is a 210-kDa transmembrane tyrosine kinase predominantly expressed in mouse vascular endothelial cells-including those in developing vasculature, capillaries, and regenerating tissues. It serves as the primary signaling receptor for VEGF-A, mediating downstream cascades that drive endothelial cell proliferation, migration, and tube formation, which are central to angiogenesis, embryonic vascular development, and tissue repair. It also regulates vascular permeability and endothelial cell survival, maintaining vascular homeostasis in physiological and pathological contexts (e.g., wound healing, tumor angiogenesis). Enriched in mouse organs with high vascular turnover (e.g., placenta, kidneys), it is a key mediator of vascular plasticity. As a core regulator of angiogenesis, mouse VEGFR2 is a critical target for studying vascular biology, cancer, and ischemic diseases.
