Target Information

Rat growth hormone receptor (GHR) is a 95 kDa single-pass cytokine receptor whose extracellular domain grips GH through two tryptophan clamps, while Box-1/2 motifs recruit JAK2 for STAT phosphorylation. A solvent-exposed 18-aa "KVE" loop (aa 192-209) between fibronectin type III repeats folds into a β-hairpin unique among rat cytokine receptors, presenting a fixation-stable epitope absent from prolactin receptor. Affinity-purified antibodies targeting this loop trace native GHR in hepatic sinusoids, chondrocyte membranes, and adipocyte sarcolemma, delivering crisp surface rings and single-band clarity on immunoblots with no cross-reaction to PRL-R or leptin receptor.
