Mouse interleukin 17B (IL-17B) is a 19-kDa secreted cytokine belonging to the IL-17 family, predominantly expressed in mouse mucosal tissues (intestine, lung) and epithelial cells, with additional expression in immune cells. It binds to its cognate receptor IL-17RB, activating downstream signaling cascades that induce pro-inflammatory cytokines (e.g., IL-6, TNF-α) and chemokines. This pathway modulates mucosal immunity, promotes epithelial barrier function, and mediates host defense against extracellular pathogens.
