Target Information

Mouse bone sialoprotein (BSP) is a 60-kDa glycosylated phosphoprotein enriched in mouse mineralized tissues like bone and dentin. It contains integrin-binding motifs and calcium-binding domains, mediating cell-matrix adhesion and promoting hydroxyapatite crystal nucleation during bone formation. Expressed primarily in mouse osteoblasts, osteoclasts, and odontoblasts, it regulates bone remodeling, mineralization, and osteoclast recruitment. Beyond skeletal physiology, it contributes to tissue calcification and cell signaling in pathological contexts. As a key marker of bone-forming cells and a regulator of mineralized tissue homeostasis, mouse BSP is a critical target for studying osteoporosis, bone fractures, and skeletal development-related mechanisms.
