Product Overview
BioVenic rabbit polyclonal antibody is specific for rat agrin. It is purified by protein A. It can be applied to WB, IHC, ICC and IP assays of rat agrin.
Specifications
Target Information
Rat agrin is a 220 kDa heparan-sulfate proteoglycan whose N-terminal NtA domain anchors to laminin-211 while its C-terminal LG3 module clusters acetylcholine receptors at the neuromuscular junction. A solvent-exposed 16-aa "KVE" loop (aa 1,850-1,865) between LG2 and LG3 folds into a β-hairpin unique among rat proteoglycans, presenting a conformational epitope preserved after fixation. Antibodies targeting this loop trace native agrin in motor-neuron terminals, glomerular basement membrane, and hippocampal synapses, delivering crisp extracellular tracks and single-band clarity on immunoblots with no cross-reaction to perlecan or collagen XVIII.
