Target Information
Mouse Spondin 1 (SPON1) is an extracellular matrix glycoprotein that promotes neuronal adhesion, axon guidance and synapse formation. Secreted by astrocytes and endothelial cells, it accumulates in basement membranes of brain, spinal cord and vasculature, serving as a scaffold for developing neurons and sprouting vessels. SPON1's F-spondin domains interact with integrins and APP, making it a sensitive indicator of neuro-vascular remodeling. Target-specific antibodies deliver sharp immunostaining for mapping plasticity, injury repair and angiogenesis in developmental and disease models.
