Target Information

Mouse histone acetyltransferase 1 (HAT1) is a 49 kDa type-B enzyme whose N-terminal HAT domain transfers acetyl-CoA to histone H4 lysines 5 and 12, while a C-terminal tail binds nascent histone H3-H4 dimers in the cytoplasm. A solvent-exposed 16-residue "QRR" loop (aa 130-145) bridging β6 and α4 folds into a β-hairpin unique among HAT family members, presenting a conformational epitope preserved after fixation. Affinity-purified antibodies targeting this loop trace native HAT1 in nuclear speckles, cytosolic pre-histone complexes, and embryonic stem cells, delivering crisp punctate staining and single-band clarity on immunoblots with no cross-reaction to p300 or GCN5.
