Target Information
Mouse Insulin Promoter Factor 1 (IPF1, also known as PDX1) is a homeodomain transcription factor essential for pancreatic development and β-cell function. It binds to and activates the insulin promoter, regulating insulin gene expression in response to glucose. IPF1 is highly expressed in pancreatic β-cells, where it controls genes involved in glucose sensing, insulin secretion, and β-cell survival. It is also crucial for pancreas development and differentiation. As a key regulator of insulin expression and β-cell identity, IPF1 is an important target for studies of diabetes, pancreas development, and metabolic disorders.
