Mouse chordin is a 130 kDa secreted BMP antagonist whose four cysteine-rich von Willebrand domains clamp mature BMPs, blocking receptor binding and dorsalizing mesoderm. A solvent-exposed 18-aa "CKG" loop (aa 720-737) in the third vWD repeat folds into a β-hairpin unique among rodent chordin-like proteins, presenting a conformational epitope preserved after secretion and fixation. Affinity-purified antibodies targeting this loop trace native chordin in embryonic node, cartilage primordia, and sub-ventricular neuroepithelium, yielding crisp extracellular bands and single-band clarity on immunoblots with no cross-reaction to chordin-like 1 or twisted gastrulation.

This product is shipped with wet ice packs. Store at -20°C on receipt (up to 12 months). Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody.
