Specifications
Target Information
Mouse cluster of differentiation 147 (CD147, basigin) is a 42 kDa type I transmembrane glycoprotein whose Ig-like V-set domain bridges cyclophilins and MCT transporters, stabilizing lactate export and matrix metalloproteinase induction. A solvent-exposed 14-residue "EEM" loop (aa 195-208) within the membrane-proximal IgC domain folds into a β-hairpin unique among Ig superfamily members, offering a fixation-stable epitope absent from CD98 or CD99. Affinity-purified antibodies targeting this loop trace native CD147 in splenic T-cell zones, hippocampal synapses, and tumor cell membranes, delivering crisp surface rings and single-band clarity on immunoblots with no cross-reaction to related immunoglobulin-like proteins.
