Target Information

Mouse ATP-binding cassette transporter A13 (ABCA13) is a ˜5,050-residue, 550 kDa membrane giant whose N-terminal 3,000-residue extracellular cluster links two 6-helix transmemore domains that swing outward to export long-chain lipids and peptides. A solvent-exposed 18-aa "LFK" loop (aa 4,880-4,897) within the second nucleotide-binding domain folds into a β-hairpin unique among mouse ABCA proteins, presenting a conformational epitope preserved after aldehyde fixation. Affinity-purified antibodies targeting this loop trace native ABCA13 in hippocampal neuropil, adrenal cortex, and testicular germ cells, delivering crisp vesicular puncta and single-band clarity on immunoblots with no cross-reaction to ABCA1 or ABCA7.
