Target Information

Swine ferritin heavy polypeptide (FTH1) assembles the catalytic core of ferritin shells, oxidizing Fe²+ and storing thousands of iron atoms in liver, spleen and muscle. Its universal cytoplasmic presence plus rapid induction by iron, cytokines or oxidative stress make it a sensitive, species-specific marker for iron status, acute phase reactions and oxidative load. Antibodies raised against porcine FTH1 deliver clean western, IHC and ELISA signals without cross-reactivity to light-chain ferritin, ideal for metabolic, nutritional and inflammation studies in porcine biomedical models.

Target Porcine Ferritin Heavy Polypeptide
Target Synonym FTH1; FTHL6; PIG15; PLIF; Ferritin Heavy Chain
