Target Information

Interleukin-23 (IL-23) is a cytokine composed of a p40 subunit that is shared with IL-12 and a unique p19 subunit. Its main function is to promote Th17 maturation, expanding these cells and contributing to their cytokine production, including IL-17A. IL-23 is essential for T helper type 17 cell (Th17 cell) maintenance and expansion. Th17 cells release cytokines like IL-17, IL-21, IL-22, and GM-CSF, contributing to protection against extracellular fungi and bacteria.
