Target Information
In rabbit serum, the primary protein responsible for transporting vitamin A is the retinol-binding protein (RBP). Research has demonstrated that the down-regulation of RBP5 in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is linked to aggressive tumor characteristics, indicating that RBP5 plays a significant role in the progression of HCC. RBP5 may be primarily involved in the regulation of iron metabolism in rabbits, especially in maintaining iron homeostasis by regulating its expression level under iron deficiency conditions. In addition, its function may be related to the overall mechanism of transferrin receptor, including the uptake and distribution of iron ions.
