Target Information
Monocyte chemoattractant protein 3, also known as C-C motif chemokine 7 (CCL7), is a chemotactic factor that attracts monocytes and eosinophils, but not neutrophils. It enhances monocyte anti-tumor activity. In mice, CCL7 has complex and diverse functions, including regulating inflammatory and immune responses and participating in various biological processes such as tumor progression, tissue repair, and vascular remodeling. CCL7 also plays a significant role in the tumor microenvironment. Research has shown that CCL7 promotes the recruitment and activation of tumor-associated macrophages (TAMs) by binding to its receptor CCR2, thereby increasing tumor invasiveness and metastasis. In mouse models of colorectal and pancreatic cancer, CCL7 facilitated tumor progression through CCR2.
