Target Information
The melanoma-derived growth regulatory protein has been found to inhibit the growth of melanoma cells in vitro, as well as other neuroectodermal tumors like gliomas. In mouse models, MIA exhibited significant inhibitory effects on melanoma cell growth by modulating the local microenvironment and impacting related signaling pathways. When melanoma cells overexpressing MIA were injected into mice, a marked reduction in tumor growth was observed, indicating that MIA continues to exert its tumor-inhibitory effects in a living organism. As a potential therapeutic target, MIA might inhibit melanoma growth and spread by blocking its secretion or function. Furthermore, studies have suggested that MIA may act synergistically with other tumor-related factors, such as MGSA/GRO, indicating that combined targeting of these factors could offer a more effective treatment strategy.
