Target Information

Phospholipase A2, membrane-associated (PLA2G2A), is a secretory, calcium-dependent phospholipase A2 that primarily targets extracellular phospholipids, playing significant roles in host antimicrobial defense, inflammatory response, and tissue regeneration. In mice, PLA2G2A serves multiple biological functions, including anti-tumor activity, immunomodulation, metabolic regulation, and involvement in the inflammatory response. Notably, PLA2G2A demonstrates significant anti-tumor effects; it can inhibit the development of colon and small intestinal cancers in mice induced by ethylamine methanesulfonate (AOM). PLA2G2A influences these effects by modulating the expression of β-catenin in the Wnt signaling pathway.
