Target Information

Cytotoxic T-Lymphocyte Protein 4 is an immune checkpoint protein that downregulates the immune response by inhibiting T cell activation. It is encoded by the CTLA4 gene in pigs. CTLA4 is upregulated on the surface of T cells following an activation stimulus provided by the TCR and CD28. Regions involved in B7 family binding have been identified in both CD28 and CTLA4.
