Target Information
The Leukemia Inhibitory Factor Receptor (LIFR) acts as a signal-transducing molecule and may share a common pathway with IL6ST. In its soluble form, LIFR inhibits the biological activity of Leukemia Inhibitory Factor (LIF) by blocking its binding to receptors on target cells. In mice, LIF and its receptors have diverse roles, including embryonic development, neural regeneration, inflammatory response, tumor suppression, and aging-related diseases. Their functions rely on complex signaling pathways and molecular mechanisms. LIF is particularly critical during embryonic development, especially during embryo implantation. It activates signal transduction pathways by binding to the LIF receptor (LIFR), thereby creating the necessary conditions for embryo implantation.
