Target Information

Phosphatase and Tensin Homolog (PTEN) is a dual-specificity protein phosphatase that dephosphorylates proteins phosphorylated on tyrosine, serine, and threonine residues. Additionally, it acts as a lipid phosphatase by removing the phosphate group from the D3 position of the inositol ring in phosphatidylinositol phosphates, including PtdIns(3,4,5)P3 (phosphatidylinositol 3,4,5-trisphosphate), PtdIns(3,4)P2 (phosphatidylinositol 3,4-diphosphate), and PtdIns3P (phosphatidylinositol 3-phosphate), with a strong preference for PtdIns(3,4,5)P3. In mice, PTEN plays a wide range of roles across various biological processes, such as tumor suppression, metabolic regulation, neural development, and immune response.
