Target Information
CUB and zona pellucida-like domain-containing protein 1 is localized in zymogen granules and is involved in trypsinogen activation. In mice, CUB and vitelline membrane domain-containing protein 1 (CUZD1) plays a crucial role in mammary gland development. It primarily regulates the proliferation and differentiation of mammary epithelial cells through the JAK/STAT5 signaling pathway. During pregnancy, CUZD1 enhances prolactin signaling by forming a complex with JAK1/2 and STAT5, which in turn activates downstream EGF family growth factors like NRG1, EREG, and EGP. These growth factors further stimulate the proliferation and differentiation of mammary epithelial cells via ErbB receptors, including ErbB1, ErbB2, and ErbB4.
