Target Information

Protein canopy homolog 2 acts as a positive regulator of neurite outgrowth by stabilizing myosin regulatory light chain (MRLC). It prevents the ubiquitination of MRLC by MIR, thereby protecting it from proteasomal degradation. Mice lacking Cnpy2 exhibit increased sensitivity to non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) and hepatic steatosis induced by a high-fat diet. Furthermore, overexpression of Cnpy2 can enhance neuronal survival and reduce apoptosis. In a mouse model of Huntington's disease, Cnpy2 is expressed in the cortex and striatum, co-expressed with CTIP2, and contributes to the regulation of neuronal survival related to motor function.

Target/Biomarker Mouse CNPY2
