Target Information

Gastrodin is a chemical compound found in the orchid Gastrodia elata and the rhizome of Galeola faberi. It is also produced through biotransformation of 4-hydroxybenzaldehyde by Datura tatula cell cultures. It has been shown to have pharmacological activity in treating central nervous system disorders. Gastrodin and its acetyl derivative are used in China to treat neurasthenia, headaches, and migraines. It is available as a dietary supplement in other countries.
