Target Information

Bovine growth hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH) is a potent 44-amino acid peptide known for its high efficacy in stimulating growth hormone release. Studies indicate that polymorphisms in GHRH may significantly impact carcass yield in beef cattle, suggesting a genetic influence on this trait. Furthermore, application of GHRH treatment in lactating Japanese Black cows has been shown to stimulate endogenous growth hormone and subsequent insulin-like growth factor-1 (IGF-1) secretion, potentially leading to an increase in insulin resistance.
